Quantum Hydrogen Infrastructure

Quantum has been designing and building hydrogen re-fueling equipment since 2002. Quantum's original product line encompassed 35 MPa systems, but currently includes up to 70 MPa systems. Quantum currently has 8 hydrogen re-fueling stations operating in the United States. The heart of these stations is the B70. This is a combination of hydrogen compression, achieved using a diaphragm compressor, and hydrogen dispensing. The system has been expanded to include gas pre-cooling, along with high pressure storage. These new options allow for reduced fill times, bringing a re-fueling event down to 5 minutes time, similar to a gasoline fill-up. One of Quantum's latest hydrogen infrastructure projects was the development and implementation of re-fueling equipment in use at Shell Hydrogen station, JFK airport, N.Y. opened in June 2009.
